LONG-HAIRED Lover From Liverpool Jimmy Osmond is to appear in Torquay, it has been confirmed.
The Herald Express can reveal that Jimmy, the youngest member of one of the world's most famous singing families, will star as Billy Flynn when the national tour of West End smash-hit musical Chicago rolls into town.
Also signed up to the Princess Theatre appearance is EastEnders actress Emma Barton, who will appear as jail bird Roxie Hart.
As the youngest member of the world-renowned Osmond family, Jimmy is the youngest person ever to top the singles' charts with his 1972 hit Long-Haired Lover From Liverpool.
As a solo artist, he accumulated six gold records, one platinum record, and two gold albums.
Jimmy and his siblings have sold more than 100million records and share 51 gold and platinum recordings.
A theatre spokesman said: "Chicago proved to be very popular in the past and confirmation that Jimmy will be appearing is very exciting news.
"Chicago is a slick and sexy musical full of great numbers and we are confident that Jimmy will 'Razzle Dazzle' our audiences."
Chicago is riddled with shameless sleaze, girls on the make, lies, deception and money-grabbing lawyers.
Based on events back in the roaring 1920s, nightclub singer Roxie Hart shoots her lover; along with cell block rival, double-murderess Velma Kelly, they fight to keep from death row with the help of smooth talking lawyer, Billy Flynn.
Emma Barton is best known for her role as Honey Mitchell in EastEnders but has also appeared in Spooks.
Jimmy, who is currently appearing in Grease, made his UK stage debut in Boogie Nights in 2004 before entering the jungle as part of TV's I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!
